Jumia Technologies AG Securities Fraud Investigation
April 13, 2026
Shamis & Gentile, P.A. is investigating claims on behalf of investors of Jumia Technologies AG ("Jumia Technologies AG" or the "Company") (JMIA). Impacted investors are advised to contact the firm now.
What the Investigation Is About
The law firm is investigating whether Jumia Technologies AG and certain of its officers and/or directors made materially misleading statements or omissions regarding the Company’s financial performance and outlook between August 7, 2025 and October 16, 2025.
On August 7, 2025, Jumia announced second-quarter results reporting 25% revenue growth and a “meaningful improvement in cash burn driven by growth and a positive impact from working capital,” and stated a goal to breakeven on loss before income tax in Q4 2026 and achieve full-year profitability in 2027.
On September 16, 2025, RBC Capital Markets upgraded Jumia to _outperform_ with a $15 price target after meetings with management, citing easing currency pressures and sustained supply benefits. Under review is whether these analysts were fully informed by management on the severity of foreign-exchange devaluations, competitive pressures from new market entrants, and the transient nature of the reported working-capital gains.
On October 17, 2025, Aletheia Capital downgraded Jumia to _sell_, warning that the Company’s recent working-capital improvements “appear to be seasonal and unsustainable rather than indicative of a fundamental business transformation.”
Market Reaction
Following this news, Jumia’s stock fell 9.51%, dropping from $11.88 on October 16 to $10.75 at the end of trading on October 17, 2025. Combined with an earlier drop from $12.88 on October 9 to $11.60 the next day, the two declines erased roughly $2.41 per share in value, resulting in significant losses to investors.
